Check these books and e-books, most of which I've found
helpful myself:
Your Writing Coach
This excellent book by writing coach Jurgen Wolff should be
on every writer's bookshelf. I bought a copy when Jurgen came
to talk to our Writers' Circle and have been greatly inspired
and encouraged by what he has to give. The book also gives
access to the private pages of his website (http://www.yourwritingcoach.com) where you
can find interviews with some of the authors he talks about
in the book and download useful information to help you with
your current or proposed writing project. You can also
purchase the book from his site. I can enthusiastically
recommend "Your Writing Coach" to every visitor to this

Writing bestselling children's books by
Alexander GordonSmith
This fascinating and very different book is
sub-titled "52 brilliant ideas for inspiring young readers".
The 52 ideas have a chapter each and each chapter is an easy
yet enthralling, instructive and inspiring read. One of the
earlier chapters, "The Uses of Enchantment" begins "Writing for
children is about more than entertainment. For as long as
humans have been around, stories have helped children find
meaning in life, and discover their place in the world." You
could say this is the guiding tenet offered in Writing
Bestselling Children's Books.
The book covers
many pertinent topics including 'Tips for pitching your story
at the right age group'; 'Clever ways to create a truly
villainous villain'; 'The importance of believable dialogue';
'How to create a cracking plot and keep it moving
on'.
With more than
300 books under his belt Alexander Gordon Smith is well placed
to show others how to produce a book that their target readers
will love to read. Not that this book is quick fix to producing
a best seller, but it will make the path to the finished story
that much easier and satisfying. Published by The Infinite

For Money by David
Goldsmith "Over
several years," says David Goldsmith, "in an effort to make
money writing, I've tried almost everything. Writing
articles. Writing web site content. Writing e-books. I even
tried writing confession letters to popular magazines. It
took me years to gradually build up my writing business when
I was still working in a full-time job. It always seemed
like two steps forward then three steps back! But somehow it
grew. Then, several years ago I quit my day job to start
writing full-time as a writer."
As the title says, David covers
25 ways to make money...that includes writing freelance
articles, blogging, copywriting, and many more. Now you can

Novel Writing Made Easy by Andrea Rains
Waggener
Do you have an idea for a
novel
but don’t know how to
turn it into a plot? Have you started
plotting your novel but you’ve got stuck?
Get help now! Click through to Andrea's website and you
will find a link to download parts of the first chapter
of Novel
Writing Made Easy. This will give you an
excellent idea of what is in store for
you. Here's an excerpt from an article in
the New York Times: "Publishers know that
most first novels will not sell more than 3,000 copies
and many sell about 1500. A sale of 10,000 is considered
very good. As a result the publishers are generally
unwilling to pay advances over $15,000--and that number
is high." "But enough with the bad news," says
Andrea, "I’ve got some GOOD news for you. I’ve figured
out a system that works so well, it helped me beat these
lousy odds. My first novel not only sold to a large
publisher, Bantam Dell, it sold for one of those high
advances the New York Times said are so rare. Then the
novel went on to sell over 10,000 copies in its first
month in the store. And thousands more since then. Pretty
cool, huh?"
