Mere Literary Festival 2009 Open Poetry Competition
Closing date: 7th July 2009
Prizes: Cash Awards plus the Grace Wines Memorial Prize. Entry Fees: £1.00 per poem, 25% discount on school entries of 10 or more poems where, if preferred, one entry form, together with a list giving details of entrant’s name/age/title of entry, may be sent. The Plough Prize Poetry Competition
Closing date: November 30th 2009
Prizes: 1st £500, 2nd £200, 3rd £100 in Short and Open categories; £100 1st prize Childrens' Poem category. Entry fee: £4.00 per poem, four poems £14, thereafter £3.50.
Categories: Short poem (up to 10 lines), Open (up to 40 lines), Poem for Children (suitable for 5-11yrs approx., any length). Free check-box critique on request for every entry posted/emailed before November 1st. Full long and short lists published. International entries welcomed.
