Theme: "O Happy Day!"

Closing date: 28th February 2009

Prizes: 1st - £70.00, 2nd - £35.00 and 3rd - £20.00

Weave a story around the theme  "O Happy Day!"  It may or may not start out dire, but it should at least have a happy outcome. It can be serious or humourous. Write something that will provide the reader with that feel-good factor.

Please don’t use the theme title as the title of your story. Put your own creative talent to work!

We are looking for entries between 1,000 and 1,500 words

Entry fee: £3.00 per story

  Entries should be typed in double spacing on one side of the paper only.

1. The name of the author, or other personal details should not appear on the manuscript. Please number pages.  
2. A cover page is not required. 
3. Entries must be accompanied by an Entry Form. 
4. Entries should not have been published previously. 
5. No strong sex, violence or bad language please. 
6. There is no limit to the number of entries submitted.  
7. Copyright remains with the author.
